Open call for 8th edition of Scientific Employment Stimulus (CEEC)

Applications with CIS-Iscte as the host institution

CIS-Iscte, Centre of excellence for Psychological Research and Social Intervention, is accepting expressions of interest from candidates interested in applying for the Individual Call to Scientific Employment Stimulus (CEEC) - 8th Edition, launched by the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (FCT).

Candidates interested in applying with CIS-Iscte as their host institution need to send an application to CIS-Iscte, aligned with one of the domains of its Research Groups: BEC (Behavior, Emotion and Cognition) / CED (Community, Education and Development) / H4A (Health for All: a psychosocial approach to health) / PsyChange (Psychology of societal change)

Expressions of interest should be sent by email to sara_costa_fernandes@iscte-iul.pt until January 15, 2026. The Subject of the email should be ‘Scientific Employment Stimulus 2025’ and the application needs to include in English language:

• Research Career Level (Junior Researcher | Assistant Researcher);

• Curriculum Vitae;

• Title, Summary of the Project and short Work Plan (maximum 2 pages);

• Motivation letter indicating the strategic alignment with the mission of CIS-Iscte and one of the Research Groups of CIS-Iscte within which the work plan is to be developed, highlighting possible relevance and expected impacts.

CIS-Iscte decision to accept the applications will be announced by email until January 22.

FCT informs that the notice of the opening of the 8th edition of the Stimulus for Scientific Employment (CEEC Individual) has been published. Applications will be accepted from December 15, 2025 (starting 16:00 or 4:00 PM, Lisbon time) to January 29, 2026 (until 17:00 or 5:00 PM, Lisbon time).

This Call the financing of 400 Scientific Employment contracts, supporting the hiring of early-career researchers for a maximum period of three years, in junior and assistant positions. The CEEC Individual is intended for PhD holders of any nationality or stateless persons with a background in any scientific field who wish to pursue scientific research or technological development in Portugal.
