The Center for Psychological Research and Social Intervention (CIS-Iscte) of Iscte Knowledge and Innovation – Center for Value Creation and Technology Transfer (Iscte – CVTT) hereby opens a call (with reference: Rhytm4RAW/001/BI/2026) for the award of one (01) Research Studentship (BI), for students, within the scope of research activities in Psychology in the project "Rhythm4RAW – Can training in musical rhythm improve children's reading and writing skills?" (project reference: 2023.16303.ICDT), with financial support from the Foundation for Science and Technology/ Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT), I.P./MCTES through national funds (PIDDAC).
Scientific field: Psychology
The following are considered specific and mandatory requirements for this research
studentship:
a. Hold a Master's degree in Psychology, preferably in Cognitive Psychology, Clinical and Health Psychology or Educational and Developmental Psychology
b. Be fluent in European Portuguese (spoken and written), which is essential for the implementation of the work plan, particularly for data collection with European Portuguese speaking children. Fluency in European Portuguese must be explicitly stated in the motivation letter.
c. Have immediate availability, to be indicated in the motivation letter.
d. Be enrolled, at the start date of the research studentship, in a course that does not award a degree integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution and developed in association or cooperation with one or more R&D units.
e. Not exceed, with the conclusion of the studentship contract, including possible renewals, an accumulated period of two years in this type of studentship, consecutive or interpolated, under the terms of paragraphs 4 and 5 of article 6 of FCT, I.P. Studentships Regulations 3.
The research studentship is intended to carry out R&D activities by a student, master’s degree holder, enrolled in a course that does not award an academic degree integrated in the educational project of a higher education institution and developed in association or
cooperation with one or more R&D Units.
The research studentship is expected to last 12 months, estimated to start in February 2026, possibly renewable for the same or different period, up to the maximum limit of the approved funding or up to the maximum duration of this type of studentship/fellowship (whichever occurs first), and may not in any case exceed the limits defined in paragraphs 3, 4 and 5 of article 6 of Regulation no. 950/2019, of 29 November, published in Diário da República, no. 241, 2nd Series, of 16 December (FCT, I.P. Studentships Regulations), amended by regulation no. 643/2021, of 14 July, and in its current form. The call is open from January 28 to February 12, 2026 (Lisbon time).
