Iscte's School of Social Sciences (ECSH) is accepting expressions of interest, until September 23, 2026, for the award of a (1) Merit Scholarship to students enrolled at Iscte – Instituto Universitário de Lisboa in the Doctoral Program in Psychology, intended to support the completion of a Ph.D. in Psychology.
Eligibility:
Students who have been selected and are enrolling for the first time in the first year of Iscte’s Doctoral Program in Psychology and/or
who are currently enrolled for the first time in the first year of Iscte’s Doctoral Program in Psychology (in which case, the scholarships will be awarded only starting from the beginning of the second year of the doctoral program).
Students who meet the following cumulative conditions: a) Full-time students enrolled in the program and affiliated with Research Units; b) Students who have submitted the documentation referred to in Article 15 of the regulations (and specified in point 3 below); c) Students who meet the general and specific eligibility criteria defined by the Scientific Committee of the School and/or the Research Unit managing the doctoral program.
Only students who meet the following criteria will be considered for the award of a scholarship:
Achieve a grade of 15 or higher on the final assessment for scholarship award purposes;
Rank among the top 25% of students with the highest final grades in their application to the doctoral program;
Have no debts to Iscte.
In the case of applications from students who are enrolled in the first year of the doctoral program for the first time, the award of the scholarship is also contingent upon passing all course units of the doctoral program and the research project at the end of the first year.

The merit-based scholarship is awarded annually and is renewable for a maximum period of 4 years. The amount and components of the scholarship are determined in accordance with Article 18 of the Regulations for the Award of Scholarships to Doctoral Students at Iscte-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa.
