Alumnus of Iscte's PhD in Psychology honored with “APP Young Researcher in Psychology” Award

Ana Isabel Correia, who holds a PhD in Psychology from Iscte-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa (2024), was honored with the “APP Young Researcher in Psychology” award at the XII National Symposium on Research in Psychology (SNIP), which is being held at the University of Porto.

In 2018, Ana Isabel Correia began working at Iscte as a research assistant on a project funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT). Funded by an FCT doctoral scholarship, she completed her doctorate between 2019 and 2024 under the supervision of César Lima and E. Glenn Schellenberg, with the research work “Correlates of music”. Glenn Schellenberg, with the research project “Correlates of music training: Plasticity or predispositions?”. On her CV, the young researcher already has 13 articles published in international journals such as Cognition, Emotion and NeuroImage.
Her work has now been recognized by the Portuguese Psychological Association (APP) with this award, which is designed to distinguish the curriculum of a young Portuguese researcher at the start of their career, in any scientific area in Psychology.
Ana Isabel Correia will soon be starting a post-doctoral research position as part of a project on music and memory in ageing at the University of Vienna in Austria.
