The Future Information for Youth in Rural Areas (FYI-R) project, led by researcher Francisco Simões, has recently reached its completion, providing a toolbox with information on the needs of rural youth that is useful for policymaking.

Building upon the work of the Rural NEET Youth Network (CA18213), whose members were awarded a COST Innovators Grant, the FYI-R (IG18213) involved 14 European countries to develop a unique foresight toolbox aimed at engaging rural stakeholders in the development of future-oriented policies, programs, and services for youth aged 18-29. It covers four core areas: mobilities, education, employment, and entrepreneurship.

The toolbox was publicly released last October 22, 2025, in Brussels, in a workshop by the European Rural Youth Observatory (EURYO). It is available on the EURYO website: https://euryo.org/fyir/
