Teacher Training Course "Neural Processes, Learning Problems, and the Impact of Digital Technology on Children's Development"

On June 16, 14:00 (Lisbon time), the Erasmus+ project READy - Addressing Disparities in Literacy Acquisition (Project Number: 2024-1-IT02-KA220-SCH-000250672) is organizing a free online course for teachers. CIS-Iscte's researcher Joana Baptista is part of the Scientific Committee.


Abstract: The course explores the interconnection between learning difficulties, neural processes, and psychosocial issues in children, with strategies for school support. Additionally, it examines the effects of digital technology on reading development and mental health, providing tools for conscious use in the classroom.

14:00-16:00: Prof. Paavo Leppänen, Professor at the Department of Psychology, Jyväskylä University (JYU, Finland) and Director of the Centre of Excellence for Learning Dynamics and Intervention Research (InterLearn)

  • Current view of learning problems as multidimensional and multifactorial disorders

  • Current knowledge on the relationship of learning problems and later psychological difficulties

  • Factors affecting this relationship


16:00-18:00: Prof.a Susannah Otieno-Leppänen, PI of the European project Digital Transformation for NeuroDiversity Inclusion in Africa and Asia (AAN-DI).
