Short bio

Sónia Bernardes is a Professor at Iscte and Director of the MSc in Social psychology of Health and Well-being. She studies social disparities in health and the role of psychosocial influences on chronic illness/pain adaptation processes and explores healthcare professionals' biases in pain assessment and treatment, focusing on psychosocial processes and interventions. She also co-coordinates the thematic line “Societal Health” at the SocioDigitalLab for Public Policy.
