The research group Health for all (H4A) organizes a roundtable to reflect and promote dialogue on the challenges and possibilities of promoting mental health within academic contexts. The session will take place on June 26, 2025, at Iscte's building 4, Room B226, from 12:00 to 13:00, and online.

About the event
Mental health concerns among university students are an increasingly pressing issue within higher education. Institutions are called to reflect critically and act proactively to foster academic environments that prioritize mental well-being, inclusion, and care. This roundtable, Promoting Mental Health in Higher Education, creates a space for reflection and dialogue on the challenges and possibilities of promoting mental health within academic contexts. We will present two ongoing research projects developed at Portuguese universities that address these issues and offer insights into innovative practices and institutional strategies.
The organization will welcome two invited speakers: Professor Sibila Marques (CIS-Iscte) and Professor Lara Guedes de Pinho (University of Évora) who will present two ongoing research projects developed at Portuguese universities that address these issues and offer insights into innovative practices and institutional strategies. Together, they propose to explore a central question: How can we co-create healthier, more inclusive academic spaces for all?
This session is part of the PhD for PhD initiative, organized by doctoral students from the H4A research group. This is a session organized by students, for students. The aim is to foster connections between the research interests of PhD students and the themes discussed within the H4A group. All PhD students and researchers from other CIS groups are warmly invited to join and take part in the discussion.
