David Guedes

My doctoral experience at Iscte was an important step in my development as a researcher and professional. The program offered a stimulating environment where I could take on diverse academic roles and experiences, from laboratory work to science communication, coordination, and mentoring. It brings together students working on very different research topics and from varied cultural backgrounds, creating a truly international and intellectually rich environment. The program also provides opportunities that help doctoral students advance their work, including training activities and publication incentives. Mentoring from my advisors was key in providing the support needed throughout the challenges of the PhD while encouraging the intellectual freedom to develop as an independent researcher. My doctoral experience shaped much of my current work as a researcher, and for that I remain truly grateful.
