Bernardo Cavalheiro

CIS-Iscte was my host institution during my PhD. The first and biggest challenge I faced throughout my project related to my organizational skills. Being granted funding and a full project to conduct was overwhelming at first; however, a significant part of my professional growth came from that exact challenge. I was pushed to develop my organizational skills, learn to identify priorities, and set up effective working plans. My supervisors, both members of CIS-Iscte, were crucial in helping me manage these tasks and providing the tools and know-how to approach them.Nowadays, regardless of the work context, these skills have proved vital to my success.

CIS-Iscte also provided a rich research environment, with researchers from across the globe and a broad range of research themes. Without CIS, I wouldn't have been exposed to such specific subjects or diverse methodologies, which is a testament to the high quality and academic richness of the center. As someone now working in the industry, I can say that CIS provided me with a fantastic foundation for my current career, and I am a very grateful alumnus of the institution.
