Nesta sessão, a investigadora Margarida Vaz Garrido, dará uma conferência, em inglês, intitulada "Socio-cognitive mechanisms of misinformation acceptance and correction".

Resumo da conferência:
Misinformation can reshape both personal and collective memory and, consequently, decisions and behavior in relevant domains, such as health, environment, politics, or science, with critical individual, social, and economic consequences. While this phenomenon has been widely addressed in communication studies or political science, we will look at the emergence and propagation of misinformation and its correction in social interaction contexts through the lens of experimental social-cognitive psychology.
