The event aimed to promote debate and the sharing of good practices on the prevention of domestic violence and the protection of children and young victims and was directed at professionals from various areas, including health, education, social security, justice and civil society. Researcher Joana Alexandre (CIS-Iscte) presented data from the project's monitoring and evaluation.

The A Teu Lado Project, funded by the EEA Grants, Conciliation and Gender Equality Program, managed by the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality, is an initiative of the CNPDPCJ, in partnership with the Directorate General for Education, the Directorate General for Health, the National Republican Guard, the Public Security Police, the Social Security Institute, Iscte-Instituto Universitário de Lisboa and the Order of Portuguese Psychologists, which aims to boost coordination between the national support network for victims of domestic violence and the youth protection system.

The project's main objective is to establish a model that intervenes early to prevent trauma and promote effective impacts in the prevention of domestic violence, breaking the intergenerational transmission.
